WOW! 2018?! Where did this year go? It always goes too quick, am I right? So, if you are the type that makes New Years resolutions, good for you! Personally, I am into making goals for the year. Things you want to accomplish for 2018. Small steps to get to the full picture. Here are some ways you can have a healthier 2018

1) find your WHY: first off, a lot of people don't know why they are doing what they are doing. Not sure if that makes sense. Let me break it down. You always need a WHY to keep you motivated. Why are you trying to lose weight? Why are you trying to become healthier? This is an important question to ask yourself. When you find the why, write it down. Keep this somewhere you will see it. When you forget why you started, look back! 

2) plan your meals ahead of time: meal prep is the key to success. If you are not prepared, you will start grabbing for anything. Choose 1-2 days you will be meal prepping. This will really free up time during the other days when you aren't cooking and chopping! 

3) carry snacks with you: have you ever found yourself getting hangry? Well, we want to avoid that at all costs. Getting to that point will cause a downwards spiral. Keep snacks with you at all times (bag, gym bag, car). Pack of almonds, kind bars, rx bars are all great options to keep around! 

4) move it: you need to make time to get moving. Doing some HIIT workouts are a great way to get the heart rate up in a short amount of time. Don't overdo it at first. This is a gradual progression. 

5) sleep: I cannot stress this enough. Sleep is the most important thing! Do you need air to breathe? Sleep is just as important. Your body needs to recover and without this you may not see the results you are looking for.
